Holidays in St. Veit

We love our home and are happy to share it with you. Right in the middle of the SalzburgerLand and at the heart of Ski amadé, the Sunnhäusl sits on a high plateau above the Salzach valley: the Salzburger Sonnenterrasse.

To the north we are sheltered by the Hochkönig, to the south by the Hohe Tauern massif. This setting gives us plenty of hours of sunshine and a far-reaching view all the way to the Großglockner.

The free ski bus (for guests with ski equipment) runs several times a day and gets you to the gondola in St. Johann-Alpendorf in around 20 minutes. From there you can reach Wagrain, Flachau and many other ski areas. The Gastein valley and Großarl are also close by.

Winter away from the pistes

Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ski touring or ice climbing: around the Sonnenterrasse, winter offers everything that’s fun.

In the garden, snowmen and little sledging runs are usually not long in coming, to the delight of our youngest guests.

Hiking & cycling

Lovely walks and hikes start right in the village. The views stretch across the valleys of the Hohe Tauern all the way to the Großglockner.

Lake Goldegg and Lake Böndlsee, plus the natural swimming pool in St. Veit and the leisure pool with water slide in Schwarzach. On top of that, there’s the healthy climate St. Veit is known for.

Day trips in the SalzburgerLand

Liechtensteinklamm gorge, the Großglockner High Alpine Road, the city of Salzburg: all the major sights are within about an hour. Tip: the SalzburgerLand Card.

St. Veit im Pongau

Around 4,000 people live in St. Veit, at an altitude of about 764 m. St. Veit is not a typical tourist resort, but a place to feel at home, a place of health and down-to-earth honesty. You won’t find any made-up attractions here, just genuine Salzburg character.

Its healing climate makes St. Veit a health resort and an ideal place to relax and recover, especially for people with respiratory problems.

The region

Salzburger Sonnenterrasse

The Sonnenterrasse (“sun terrace”) takes in Goldegg with its castle, Schwarzach and St. Veit. Walks and events invite you out all year round. For swimming there are the Goldegger See and the Böndlsee, the St. Veit natural pool and the Schwarzach leisure pool with its water slide.

The most important sights in the SalzburgerLand can be reached in about an hour. The city of Salzburg and the Großglockner High Alpine Road are around 40 minutes away, and Zell am See, St. Johann and Bischofshofen are close by.
